Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, monthly financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Monitors and generates reports to management of cash balances for multiple affiliated entities.
  • Prepares journal entries and maintains and reconciles various general ledger accounts to ensure accurate monthly processes.  Completes intercompany reconciliations and adjusting entries.
  • Analyzes business operations, trends, costs and revenues to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
  • Participates in the monthly close process for multiple entities, generates detailed analyses that support adjustments to the books of record.  Reviews the work of accountants involved in this process also, and works to train them in higher level processes or analyses.
  • Examines processes used to generate the journal entries that create the monthly financial statements, and confirm accuracy, completeness and relevancy of the elements used.
  • Develops, maintains and analyzes budgets, and prepares periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs, for both operating costs and capital expenditures.
  • Documents processes and desktop procedures used in performing assigned responsibilities.
  • Establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
  • Provides work leadership and direction to other accountants and clerical workers in areas deemed necessary or as directed by the Controller.
  • Performs advanced and specialized accounting assignments involving complex and confidential data.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience 

•Bachelor’s degree within finance or accounting.

•Three to four years of experience in finance and accounting.

•Or combination of equivalent experience, education, and training.

Skills

  • Advanced use MS Office Products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
