Job Requirements of Freight Auditor:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent work or military experience.
- 1+ years of experience in logistics freight bill audit and payment and/or accounts payable.
- Ability to read, learn, comprehend, and apply contracts with a basic understanding of all modes of transportation and logistics (Less-than-Truckload, Truckload, Intermodal, Flatbed, Specialized)
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel. Experience working independently under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
- Availability to travel 10% of the time.
- Financial background and experience are a plus.
- SAP experience is a plus.
- Prior experience working for a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider or carrier is a plus.KM P123

Job Description:
- As Auditor, Freight Audit & Payment Operations, you will be responsible for auditing supplier freight invoices to ensure that the applicable contract and rates have been correctly applied to each invoice.
- The goal is to identify and resolve billing discrepancies, proactively address recurring errors to minimize the frequency of billing discrepancies, and ensure payments to suppliers are approved correctly and on time.
- The Auditor, Freight Audit & Payment Operations will report directly to the Manager, Freight Audit & Payment Operations.
- Audit carrier freight invoices for accuracy including but not limited to rates, service, freight classification, weight, dimensions, and commodity description.
- Analyze invoice corrections and recommend solutions geared towards reducing invoicing exceptions.
- Track, monitor, and report invoice exceptions to ensure 100% compliance with company goals.
- Identify and resolve systematic invoicing exceptions to ensure timely and accurate payment.
- Dispute and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Solve a broad range of logistics accounting and/or finance challenges of varying scope and complexity.
- Correspond with internal teams as needed to ensure timely and accurate payment to suppliers.
- Develop, promote, and maintain strong supplier relationships by ensuring the highest level of customer service.
- Train, develop, and mentor Jr. Auditors.
- Other duties as assigned.
