Job Requirements of Payroll Specialist:
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for employees throughout organization
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of wages and salaries
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits
- Calculate and process payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Maintain payroll records and employee information in a confidential manner
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors
- Generate payroll reports for management review
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Proficiency in using Workday or other payroll software and intermediate Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and procedures
- Knowledge of financial concepts related to payroll, such as journal entries and account reconciliation
- Familiarity with corporate accounting practices
- Ability to analyze data and identify discrepancies or errors
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable is a plus

Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a new opportunity with our client in Winston-Salem. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible or entering payroll for a employees living and working in multiple states. This is a temporary position but permanent opportunities may exist for a strong candidate.
