Financial Controller (Business and Financial Operations)
Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking a Financial Controller for a client of ours in the Triad. The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management. This role includes managing the accounting team, preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring adherence to internal financial controls and external regulations. The Controller will collaborate closely with senior management and other departments to provide financial insights that guide decision-making and long-term business strategy.
Direct Hire pays around 80 - 95K annually
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other relevant standards.
- Manage the general ledger, including oversight of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Ensure timely preparation of tax returns, audits, and other regulatory filing.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Team Management & Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff, ensuring a high level of performance and professionalism.
- Review and approve all transactions processed by accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Strategic Planning & Analysis:
- Provide financial analysis to senior management, identifying key financial trends, variances, and potential risks.
- Participate in strategic planning by providing financial insights and recommending actions to improve profitability and financial stability.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure the continued development and maintenance of accounting software and systems, driving automation where possible.
