Job Requirements of Field Service Battery Technician:
Key Duties
-
Deliver on-site service and maintenance for various battery and charging systems, including related handling equipment.

Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, following established safety standards and company protocols.

Execute regular maintenance checks such as performance testing, cleaning, and component replacements.

Communicate clearly with clients about system health, required repairs, and safety recommendations.
-
Keep thorough and up-to-date documentation of all services rendered, including parts utilized and follow-up suggestions.

Coordinate with in-house teams to ensure prompt and effective service, and support inventory control by tracking required repair parts and tools.

Travel as necessary to fulfill service appointments, offering flexibility to accommodate customer scheduling needs.
Competencies
-
Completion of AC/DC electrical training is advantageous.
-
Familiarity with safety regulations concerning battery use, charging procedures, and environmentally responsible disposal practices.
-
Foundational skills in diagnosing and repairing both electrical and mechanical systems.
-
Background in customer service or technical assistance roles is beneficial.
Requirements
-
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training or a degree in a related discipline is a plus.
-
Hands-on experience with battery systems, electrical maintenance, or charger servicing is strongly preferred.

Solid knowledge of battery upkeep, diagnostic processes, and electrical repair work.
-
Must be able to interpret and understand technical documentation, including schematics and wiring blueprints.

Strong independent work ethic with excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

Effective communication skills and a professional demeanor, especially in customer-facing situations.
-
Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving history.

Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physically intensive tasks as needed.

Our client is seeking a Field Service Battery Technician to join their Richmond, VA team! The qualified candidate will be traveling locally in order to service batteries for various commercial clients throughout the region.
