Job Requirements of Cutter:
Key Responsibilities
- Identify the correct fabric or leather required for each order by referencing the job number or verifying material type.
- Choose the appropriate pattern template corresponding to the specific furniture piece being produced.
- Carefully trace the pattern onto the material, ensuring the outline reflects the correct dimensions and contours for each component (e.g., backs, seats).
- Use manual scissors or an electric cutting tool to accurately cut the material according to the outlined shape.
- Match the cut materials with the corresponding job ticket to maintain traceability and ensure accurate production flow.
- Transfer prepared materials, along with job documentation, to the sewing department for the next stage of production.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cutting area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
- Inspect material before and after cutting to confirm there are no defects or inconsistencies that could impact product quality.
- Coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure production timelines are met and order specifications are fulfilled.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on cutting experience in a furniture manufacturing environment is required.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting production tickets, pattern templates, and material types.
- Demonstrated ability to work with precision, especially when cutting expensive or specialty materials such as leather.
- Skilled in using both hand tools (scissors) and powered cutting equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, consistent results.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively to keep up with production schedules.
- Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and handling material rolls.

Cutter
Our client in High Point are seeking an experienced Cutter to work in their furniture plant on a temp-to-hire basis. The position is 1st shift, Monday-Thursday from 6:30am to 4:15pm and 6:30am to 10:30am on Fridays.
This role is responsible for the precise preparation and cutting of fabric or leather materials for upholstered furniture manufacturing. The position requires an experienced individual with a strong understanding of material handling, pattern use, and cutting techniques specific to the furniture industry.
