Overview
Advance Personnel Resources is seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our clients dynamic team in a Direct Hire Role . The ideal candidate will have experience in operating printing presses and will play a crucial role in producing high-quality printed materials. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality control, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements:

  • Major Responsibilities:
    Produce quality printed products within production standard guidelines and customer specifications efficiently and with optimum production output.
    Specific Responsibilities

    • Print job jacket items per company and customer specifications.
    • Assume proper operating procedures for the flexible printing presses.
    • Adhere to all quality specifications and ISO procedures; inform Press Supervisor of any problems/variances.
    • Learn and fill in all applicable areas of the job jacket, enter information on the waste form and job control procedure sheet.
    • Check order against the number of printed press sheets.
    • Practice total line clearance when jobs are complete, enforce same procedure to Press Helper.
    • Responsible for the efficient output and quality work standards of the Press Helper.
    • Operate printing presses per job specifications, production codes, and quantity output.
    • Perform necessary machine adjustments for proper quality and efficient production output.
    • Execute press process checks.
    • Make certain all printed skids have load tickets/hold tickets attached; job number, operator’s initials and date printed.
    • Confirm that printed skids are in correct holding area and in job unitization.
    • Review scheduling board daily and advise for changes when warranted.
    • Use available die vinyl.
    • Conduct press approvals for Sales and/or customers for new items when applicable.
    • Require all samples/proofs adhere to job specifications.
    • Perform preventative maintenance schedules when warranted.
    • Inform Press Supervisor of mechanical problems to press.
    • Perform proper procedures for 2-pass production job runs.
    • Deliver job jacket to scheduling upon job completion.
    • Must wear Safety Shoes.
    • Fill in daily time sheet.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

    Position Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Strong mathematical, computer and reading skills.
    • Must possess a positive attitude.
    • 2 years experience as Printing Press Operator.
    • Must possess a positive attitude.
    • 2 years experience as Printing Press Operator.

    Other Responsibilities

    • Safety efforts and motivation
    • Responsible for knowing and following all safety rules.
    • Proper and safe conduct is encouraged in and around the facility and machinery. It is expected that each employee uses proper personal safety protection, protect other associates and company property from accidents, illnesses, and health hazards.
    • Safety is mandatory and will be reviewed when considering job performance, promotions, and other forms of recognition including pay rates.
    • Will be required to attend training for RCRA (Hazardous Waste).
    • All employees are required to report any potential hazards to the Supervisor and/or the Safety director.
    • Quality efforts and motivation.
    • Responsible for the inherent quality of all support services as they may affect Operations ability to meet its basic quality responsibility.
    • Quality is part of this job function and will be considered in performance evaluations, promotions, and any other form of recognition including pay rates.
    • It is expected that any major quality deficiencies be reported to the Supervisor,
    • Quality, and/or the Operations Manager.

    Physical Demands
    While performing the duties, an employee is regularly required to talk or hear, walk or sit, stand, use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Preferred specific vision abilities are close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to focus.
