Job Requirements of Lab Technician:

Responsibilities
- Follow directions provided by the Lab Manager and QA Manager.
- Test incoming fabric, finished fabric, and coated fabric in accordance with finished fabric specifications and customer requirements across all company production areas.
- Accurately and thoroughly document test results on lab test forms within the specified time frames.
- Operate and verify Instron equipment, including load cells.
- Carry out special tests as assigned by the Lab Manager or QA Manager.
- Test incoming product mixes as per the batch card instructions.
- Immediately inform frame operators and the production shift supervisor of any out-of-spec test results.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols; be capable of using fire extinguishers, following the fire evacuation plan, using eye wash stations, and responding to chemical spills.
- Understand urethane coating requirements and relevant testing processes.
- Be knowledgeable about all testing equipment, the tests conducted on each, adhesion tests, work instructions, external department testing, processing of incoming swatches, and specifications for finished fabric.
- Participate in cross-training in at least one additional area to ensure productivity during periods of low volume.
Requirements
- Must stand on a tile floor for the duration of the shift.
- Engage in constant walking within the Quality Assurance and Production Labs.
- Lift boxes weighing about 20 lbs. for distances of approximately 6 feet.
- Occasionally lift molds weighing around 30 lbs.
- Hang and remove samples from poles that are 12 feet high.
- Place molds into a press that is about 12 inches high, weighing 30 lbs.
- Bend and stoop to retrieve test materials from lower cabinets.
- Capable of entering data into statistical quality control software.
- Basic math and reading skills required.
- High School Diploma is necessary.
- Compliance with protective equipment requirements is mandatory.

Our client is seeking a 2nd Shift Lab Technician for their facility in Kernersville. This position is temp-to-hire and on 2nd shift from 4pm to 12 am, Monday through Friday. The qualified candidate will need to complete a math test before interviewing at the facility.
