Job Requirements of Dye Weigher/Mixer:
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and safely store all incoming chemicals.
- Collect and deliver chemical samples to the laboratory for analysis.
- Monitor and inventory chemical mixes daily to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Prepare chemical mixes according to batch cards, using production yardage and pickup figures to determine required amounts.
- Set valves and pumps to transfer chemicals to designated frames.
- Return unused mixes to proper storage tanks and thoroughly clean lines after each transfer.
- Clean empty tote tanks and RFL tanks as necessary, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment to support safe operations.
- Conduct routine pH and viscosity testing of chemical mixes, ensuring quality control.
- Regularly inspect and maintain equipment to ensure it is operating efficiently and safely.
- Perform basic mechanical maintenance tasks as needed.
- Participate in cross-training for at least one other operational area to remain productive during slower periods.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Stand on a tile floor for the duration of the shift.
- Travel across a 300-ft workspace 8-9 times per shift.
- Enter confined spaces approximately once per shift for cleaning tasks.
- Lift and handle materials including 50-lb rubber pieces continuously and a 15-lb rubber hose twice per shift.
- Perform bending tasks to floor level approximately 50 times per shift.
- Work in environments with low exposure to toluene, ammonia, and formaldehyde fumes (goggles required for handling these substances).
- Perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, and division accurately.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Attention to detail with the capability to follow precise instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Previous experience in chemical handling or manufacturing is a plus but not required.

The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and capable of performing a variety of tasks to support smooth and efficient operations. This position is a direct hire with the client company on 3rd shift.
