Job Requirements of Electrical Technician (Field Based):
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, startup, and commissioning of new production machinery.
- Deliver hands-on training for operators and maintenance personnel to ensure safe and efficient equipment use.
- Develop, adjust, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs to meet operational needs.
Provide first-line technical support to customers through remote diagnostics and problem resolution. - Upgrade and retrofit electrical systems on existing equipment to improve performance and reliability.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of PLC programming, specifically Allen-Bradley platforms.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs) and servo systems.
- Proficient in electrical diagnostics using test equipment such as multimeters.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical prints.
- Comfortable using electrical hand tools including crimpers, wire cutters, and stripping tools.
Capable of working autonomously while maintaining a customer-focused approach to problem-solving and service delivery. - Valid driver’s license required, with flexibility for travel including eligibility for passport approval, international assignments, and rental vehicle use.
- Clear and professional communication skills in English, both verbal and written; bilingual Spanish proficiency is an advantage.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Associate degree or technical certification in industrial automation, electronics, or a related technical discipline.
- At least two years of hands-on experience installing, servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting packaging machinery.
- Minimum of two years performing electrical work related to packaging equipment systems and controls.
- Experience using mechanical hand tools such as drills, taps, punches, and wrenches.

Electrical Technician (Field Based)
Advanced Personnel Resources is currently seeking an experienced Field Based Electrical Technician for our client in Greensboro, NC. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience with proven skills in electrical maintenance, PLC troubleshooting and repair, industrial equipment installation, and mechanical maintenance. This position requires regular travel domestically and internationally.
