Job Requirements of Refrigerant Engineer/BOM Specialist:

Key Responsibilities:
-
Support and enhance manufacturing processes by improving tooling, developing standardized procedures, and conducting value stream mapping to increase efficiency and reduce production risks.

Create detailed work instructions and assembly documentation to ensure consistent quality and efficient training for production line staff.
-
Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to source parts, qualify new vendors, and ensure cost-effective material availability.
-
Lead 3D design and mechanical modeling activities, ensuring all components meet engineering standards and proprietary specifications.
-
Program and configure control systems including motor speed and interface settings for specialized machinery.
-
Monitor and analyze quality metrics to support continuous improvement across operations and drive corrective action initiatives.
-
Communicate supplier performance metrics and quality feedback to domestic vendors to promote improvements in material quality.
-
Work closely with global engineering teams to ensure all designs comply with technical standards and manufacturing capabilities.

Create, manage, and update Bills of Materials (BOM) to align with engineering revisions and production demands.
-
Recommend and implement material substitutions and specification changes to reduce inventory costs and lead times while maintaining quality.

Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshoot assembly issues, and implement effective resolutions.

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, including refrigerant handling regulations (EPA Section 608 preferred).
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration Engineering, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in an assembly production setting.

Proficiency in BOM creation and management, ideally within SAP or a similar ERP system.
-
Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD for mechanical design and modeling.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project coordination skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across cross-functional teams.
-
Familiarity with quality assurance systems and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Preferred Qualifications:

EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Certification (highly desirable).

Experience implementing material substitutions and process optimizations to reduce waste and enhance production performance.

Background in risk mitigation and quality assurance within high-volume production environments.
