Kettle Operator (Food Industry)

Position Overview
This position's essential duties and responsibilities relate to the operation of the Beef department including making sure all Kettles are clean at the start of the day. Verify that the ingredients are correct for that day’s production. Follow the instructions on the batch sheets for each specific product. Clean Kettles at the end of the shift and perform a CIP (Clean In Place) on the used Kettles. Cleaning the floor and put away parts at the end of the shift. Other responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: general maintenance duties, cleaning department areas, and packing when needed.


Job Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively through out entire shift.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, lifting, walking up stairs and/or ladders, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
  • Ability to work as team member and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management and leadership.
  • Company forklift certification.
  • Experience with HDMI screens.

Mandatory Job Qualifications:

  • Previous manufacturing experience of at least one year required.
  • Food processing experience preferred.

Job Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check Kettles and valves; verify that they are clean.
  • Verify the ingredients for each batch of product each production day.
  • Follow the directions on the batch sheet (product specific).
  • Control the HDMI screen throughout the day according to the batch sheet.
  • Control steam (Temp) and mixer speeds.
  • Take a sample of the product each day for QA testing.
  • Help with the packing process when needed.
  • Clean the Kettles at the end of the production run.
  • Prepare the used/dirty Kettles for a CIP.
  • Administer the CIP process.
  • Help clean the floor and/or put up parts after they have been cleaned from the parts sink.
  • Clean valves on machine/s.
  • Drive a forklift in order to move product.
  • Communicate with colleagues regarding disposition of product so flow of product is not disrupted by break and lunch times.
