Nurse Practitioner

Advanced Personnel Resources is currently hiring for a client in the Triad who is looking for a Nurse Practitioner who is skilled in working with the Adult and Geriatric population.

Type: This position will be a Direct Hire

Salary Starting at: $140K

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8 am until 5 pm – requires you to be on call for one week every 4 weeks.

Job Summary

Applies advanced knowledge/clinical skills necessary to assess/manage the healthcare of chronically ill geriatric participants within the county.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs health histories, physical exams and patient teaching. Orders, interprets, and follows up on lab tests and results.
• Performs selected procedures and documents care orally and in writing.
• Initiates emergency measures as indicated.
• Recognizes abnormalities that justify immediate referral for intervention by others.
• Initiates, evaluates, reviews, and changes orders for selected medications and diagnostic studies/treatments within attending physician-approved protocols.
• Assesses, initiates, and coordinates patient care daily under the supervision of the attending physician.
• Requests consultations from all services as needed in collaboration with attending physician and/or established protocols.
• Acts as liaison with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals within the program, providing education, communication,n and support for healthcare staff, patients, and families.
• Directs patient management in conjunction with physician staff.
• Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Attends staff meetings and takes part in participant care planning.
• Communicates any changes in participant condition to team members.
