Lead Quality Technician (Food Manufacturing) HACCP
Advanced Personnel Resources is currently looking for a Lead Quality Technician (Food Manufacturing) HACCP for a great company in the Greensboro area.
- This is a Direct Hire opportunity paying $23 per hour
- 1st and 2nd shift
- Working in a food manufacturing environment
The candidate MUST have HACCP experience.
The FSQS Lead Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that all FSQS Technicians and Line Monitors consistently adhere to food safety and quality procedures. The Lead Technician collaborates closely with facility leadership to uphold the safety and quality standards of the products produced. As an integral member of the FSQS team, this role serves as a key resource on food safety and plant safety matters. FSQS members are empowered to make pivotal decisions when food safety or quality are at risk.
Job Requirements:
On-the-Job Presence & Communication:
- The Lead Technician will be present in the production area at all times and must carry a company-issued radio.
- They will promptly communicate any food safety or product quality concerns to department leadership and provide guidance to the Operations and Maintenance/Engineering teams on these matters.
- The Lead Technician will set an example for others in the QA department, demonstrating leadership behaviors that technicians can follow.
- Additionally, the Lead Technician will assist the department supervisor with daily operational tasks, and at times, perform technician duties, fully understanding the requirements of the tasks.
Training & Development:

- The Lead Technician will assist in training all technicians on their job responsibilities, ensuring they are knowledgeable in job safety, SOPs, documentation, and HACCP requirements.
- They will document training for new tasks and review training records with technicians as new responsibilities are assigned.
- The Lead Technician will provide coaching and constructive feedback to help technicians improve in their roles.
Swab & Sample Management:

- The Lead Technician will oversee swab and sample collection, ensuring proper handling to maintain sample integrity.
- They will work with IT, FSQS technicians, and supervisors to quickly resolve any issues related to tablets or swab sites.
- The Lead Technician will ensure weekly swab lists and daily microbiological samples are completed per program requirements.
HACCP Support:

- In partnership with the HACCP Coordinator, the Lead Technician will help retain finished products and will be fully familiar with HACCP plan requirements.
- They will communicate with leadership when issues arise that prevent the release of finished or raw products.
- The Lead Technician will be responsible for reviewing all necessary documents before determining the final disposition of finished products.
Foreign Material Management:

- During foreign material events, the Lead Technician will assist the Operations department in ensuring the production area returns to sanitary conditions.
- They will help identify affected products and collaborate with operations to determine the retention of these items.
- The Lead Technician will provide essential information for the final disposition of raw materials or finished products potentially affected by contaminants and notify the relevant personnel of any adulterated materials.
Supply Management:

- The Lead Technician will help maintain inventory levels for department supplies, notifying leadership when supplies need replenishing.
- They will work with technicians to ensure supplies are allocated effectively and managed in a manner that minimizes waste.
- The Lead Technician will also oversee the organization and accessibility of supplies, track items signed out to other departments, and report any missing or damaged supplies.
Special Projects & Food Safety Initiatives:

- The Lead Technician will support leadership in special projects that advance the company’s food safety and quality systems.
- They will have a comprehensive understanding of departmental projects and may be assigned to lead specific initiatives as needed.
- The Lead Technician will schedule technician support for these projects, gather data, and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
Leadership Coverage:

- On a rotational basis or during vacations, the Lead Technician may be required to assume the duties of the FSQS Supervisors and the HACCP Coordinator, ensuring continuous support for the department.
