Accounting Manager


Our client, a leader in their industry, has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager to assist the Controller to ensure timely and accurate monthly/quarterly financials and other required management needs.


Essential Job Functions:

·        Manage the Inventory Process as it relates to Accounting and work with the Director of Supply Chain on inventory related matters.

·        Oversee the timely coordination and review of all journal entries (Payroll, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Bank Reconciliations, Intercompany Billings, Prepaids, Various Accruals, etc.), maintenance of recurring journal entries and allocations, monthly P&L charges and balance sheet account analysis.

·        Work alongside other departments in reviewing their costs, evaluating the reasons for budget variances, and developing ways to increase efficiency.

·        Prepare all required SOX and Financial documentation for External/Internal Auditors, along with SOX consultants.

·        Maintain, develop and implement standard operating procedures for the accounting function (ensure the proper controls are in place and continually strive to optimize and automate processes as to maintain the accuracy of accounts and financial statements).

·        Liaise on annual financial audits with external auditors.

·        Prepare quarterly tax documentation working with Corporate Controller and Tax Consultant.

·        Assist in evaluating existing team and resources, make recommendations and, when approved, implement the recommendations.

·        Special projects as required.

·        Responsible for Petty Cash.


Job Requirements

·        Four-year degree with Accounting or Finance focus.

·        At least 3 years related experience as an Accounting Manager over Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable.

·        ERP experience.

·        Sarbanes-Oxley experience related to Accounting requirements.

·        Highly organized and ability to prioritize and multi-task.

·        Patience and tolerance for interruptions and reprioritization.

·        Experience with MS Office (intermediate Excel–Pivot Tables, Sum-Ifs, Look-Ups, etc.).


     Preferred (but not required): 

·        Experience with a multi-site profit center.

·        Experience with governmental and local state tax reporting.

·        Fixed asset accounting.

·        Experience with plant management.
