Assistant HR Manager


Position open due to promotion and expansion!  Our client is a well established, stable and growing Greensboro based company.


Reporting to the HR Manager, the Assistant HR Manager's responsibilities will incloude:

  • Handle all DOT/Non-DOT and FAA randoms. Will work closely with company's contact person in handling all DOT inquires.
  • Maintain all sick and vacation hours earned on monthly bases.
  • Run attendance report for drivers each QTR and work closely with driver’s supervisor and payroll to get it processed.
  • Manage monthly Open Enrollments for Insurance.
  • Enter all the new enrollees into the system.
  • Send out letters to new employees for nicotine testing.
  • E-Verify all new hires and run new hire reports.
  • Send notifications to our insurance company for any Direct Transport’s new hired and re-hired drivers.
  • Keep driver’s spreadsheet up to date.
  • Assign badge #’s to all new employees.
  • Transfer all new hires into the Genesis System.
  • Assist HR Manager in audits.
  • Work closely with HR Manager on complains and investigations.
  • Cross train in payroll.
  • All other HR responsibilities as needed.  




Job Requirements

  • BS / BA degree preferred.  Possibly an Associate’s degree plus experience.
  • 3+ years in Human Resources preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and best practices.
  • Some experience or exposure to payroll and payroll systems a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
