Job Description

AV Technician

  • Candidate should be professional in demeanor, dress and grooming
  • Candidate should have superior customer service skills and be able to multi-task, sometimes managing several meetings or breakout sessions at once
  • Attend weekly events meetings, preferably in person, on Mondays at 10:30
  • Attend daily huddle meetings, which are generally around 3:30 or 3:45 each day
  • May attend client site visits at times; will need to be able to offer expertise and advise on best practice and capabilities to clients and event planners
  • Set up /Tear Down equipment accordingly for events (laptops, peripherals, gaff cords/strike cords, microphones (both wireless/wired), podiums, computer desks, panel discussions, house music, speaker systems, LCD displays)
  • Assist clients with meeting kick off (firing up equipment, sound checking, helping client set up their presentations, access wireless internet, mic speakers/coach on microphone operation and miscellaneous troubleshooting as needed)
  • Assist clients with troubleshooting throughout the day during the event
  • Some events with more complicated agendas require the technician to be in the room for the duration of the meeting for running sound/microphones, assisting with speaker transition etc)
  • Starting/Stopping house music as events start, break or end
  • Starting/Stopping videos at appointed times
  • Adjust lighting in the rooms to accommodate needs
  • Mapping AV from one room to another for events using multiple rooms/screens
  • Setting up virtual conferencing and camera operation
  • Setting up audio conferencing
  • Working with WebEx recording system to record presenters/presentations
  • Working with other web based conferencing systems (skype etc.) for events
  • Create digital signage for events on PowerPoint to load onto LCD displays
  • Create directional signage on word documents for events
  • Placing work orders as needed for equipment that needs repair. Working with vendors accordingly to schedule service calls. Obtaining quotes for repairs
  • Researching/Obtaining quotes for new equipment needs
  • Inventory of equipment

Job Requirements

4 years experience in AV setup and utilization
