Cost Specialist - Contract

Our client, an industry leader with operations in central NC, has an immediate need for a contract Cost Specialist.  Reporting to the Sr. Manager, the Cost Accountant will:

  • Maintain a standard cost system for the Division's inventory items.
  • Provide cost information to sales and management teams.
  • Maintain and provide cost for all inventory items.
  • Set up new items, assign product groups and ranges and provide cost for new items.
  • Evaluate and summarize monthly LCM and LIFO inventories.
  • Provide other cost information and reports as needed.

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or above in Accounting / Finance – or equivalent education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years accounting experience
  • Possesses an understanding of LCM and LIFO inventory valuation and of standard cost system.
  • Has strong systems skills, ability to work with large databases, excellent analytical skills, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
