Job Description

Essential Duties:

  • Provide “I Am Second” philosophy to client and fellow employee support and technical issue resolution via E-Mail, phone, and other electronic medium.
  • Ability to address issues and client calls as to detect and analyze trends in systems and processes.
  • Ability to recognize and retain prior incidents of past issues and apply previous solutions without assistance from technical support manager or IT.
  • Configure software to connect to Internet application servers.
  • Conduct training as needed to clients and employees related to systems and processes.
  • Accurately set up new clients in any and all systems required while following any operational/administrative guidelines set up by the CCC or IT managers.
  • Assist clients with products and pricing within all systems configurations.
  • Provide back-up to other technical support specialist or sales assistants.
  • Assist in the development and creation of any reporting needs by management.
  • Assist with any conversions, enhancements, and projects of any and all systems that should occur in regard to migration of clients, setting up clients, solutions, pricing, or invoicing.
  • Assist Technical Support Manager in updating and maintaining easy access to departmental information for Management, CCC, Operations, Sales, etc.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and any other procedural processes of the Company, Department and/or Division.
  • Demonstrate an attitude and work ethic of excellence in all aspects of performance whether working with clients, fellow employees, or management.

Technical Consultant Skills

A strong technical background is necessary, and exceptional inductive and deductive reasoning skills certainly aid job performance. However, numerous other abilities can serve a technical consultant well. Among them are:

  • Listening carefully to figure out what problem needs to be solved
  • Communicating clearly so that even non-tech employees can understand what is being done or taught
  • Keeping clients updated so that they have an accurate assessment of costs and time frame
  • Thinking critically to analyze the pros and cons of solving a problem in a certain way
  • Collaborating well with other professionals in the design team
  • Marketing one’s services effectively to attract additional clients
