Job Description


Our client, a well established industry leader in central NC, has an immediate opening for a Fleet Manager.  

Purpose of the position: 

To manage the day to day operations of the vehicles, repair and maintenance, utilization, driver behavior.


  • Approve Vehicle repair and maintenance
  • Audit fuel transactions
  • Audit driver behavior through telematics
  • Evaluate maintenance trends, excessive cost / spend
  • Maintain fleet inventory / driver assignments
  • Coordinate / manage rental vehicles
  • Collaborate with risk on vehicle accidents
  • Coordinate transportation of vehicles.
  • Decommission vehicles
  • Order replacement vehicles
  • Supervises Administrative Assistant and is responsible for:
    • hiring, promoting, terminating
    • budgeting, scheduling
    • training, developing, directing.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • BA/BS degree a plus, High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong vehicle mechanical knowledge
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time
  • Strong organization skills, detail oriented, strong verbal and written communication skills, works well with others.
