Human Resources Generalist, Labor Relations

ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITY!  Our client, a well-established stable and growing industry leader with operations in central NC, has an immediate need for an HR Generalist. The company seeks an HR professional who is strong in project management and can assist as they prepare for future growth. Reporting to the Sr. Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist will assist in the administration and execution of policies and programs within the HR department. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Provides support to all Human Resource functions.  This includes sourcing, employee and labor relations, interviewing, selection, pre-employment screenings and new hire orientation.
  • Execute HR processes: Performance management, talent review, and associate surveys
  • Works with HR team to ensure PD goals are met
  • Assure awareness of the significant environmental aspects and environmental compliance obligations of your operations and ensure controls are in place
  • Work directly with HR Staff on the Associate Engagement Survey Action Planning
  • Assist in administering recruitment efforts and analysis for improvement. Manage job postings and coordinate external recruiting as required utilizing the Applicant Tracking System. Coordinate interview schedules and appropriate documentation to maintain compliance
  • Manage ongoing and special projects for Human Resources Department.  Identify and resolve basic associate relation issues and escalate to Human Resources Manager as needed
  • Assist in the development, review, communication, implementation, and training of HR policies and procedures.
  • Work with external staffing agencies to ensure staffing requirements are met
  • Work with Sr. HR Manager on labor relations issues
  • Support coaching and development of Supervisors and FFMs
  • Support OTA process as needed
  • Provide content and support of Supervisor training sessions as needed
  • Timely execution and management of selection process to fill all open positions
  • Other duties within the scope of the job

Job Requirements

  • BA / BS degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience including plant site HR experience.
  • Experience in a Unionized environment a plus.
  • Strong computer and systems experience including HRIS.
  • Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Solid project management skills are needed to assist the company as they grow and prepare for the future.
  • Conscientious, dedicated and possesses a strong sense of confidentiality.
