Food Quality Control Tech
Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining an organized and sanitary laboratory environment for all testing of manufactured food products. Accurately record and maintain test results manually as well as electronically.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Solely responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of the Quality Control Laboratory's supplies as well as maintaining general sanitation, and organization.
• Responsible for performing microbiological and chemical analyses on incoming ingredients, finished and developmental products. Coordinates work load with QC Lab Lead.
• Determines the amounts of salt, antifoam, fat and/or tocopherol to be added to the beef, chicken, and pork products as needed.
• Responsible for turbidity and brix analyses on the chicken broth prior to, during, and after evaporation.
• Reports all test results to the QC Manager.
• Performs all other duties as required by the QC Manager.
Mandatory Job Qualifications:
• 4-year degree in Biology, Microbiology, or Chemistry preferred with related experience required.
• Food analysis experience and microbiology experience (obtained through school or obtained through industry) required.
Job Requirements:
• Possess proven ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently.
• Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Computer proficiency to include intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word and Office skills as well as Internet research skills and experience using database system.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work; ability to effectively handle multiple projects with track record of successful project completion; and ability to work positively under pressure.
• Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers/vendors.
• Communicate openly, honestly, and constructively.
