Job Requirements of Maintenance Technician:
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment to ensure continuous production operations. This role focuses on identifying and implementing proactive maintenance solutions, addressing safety concerns, and communicating improvement opportunities to the team and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine repairs and adjustments and assist in machine maintenance using diagnostic equipment.
- Troubleshoot machinery, including PLCs, servo drives, and related systems, to minimize downtime.
- Conduct inspections and testing of equipment as part of the preventive maintenance program and maintain accurate documentation.
- Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly preventive maintenance tasks and reports.
- Install, test, build, repair, and modify machinery and hand-assembly equipment.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Perform welding operations as required.
- Respond to maintenance requests and support the maintenance lead, maintenance manager, and team members on repairs and projects.
- Participate in staff development and training activities.
- Communicate maintenance status and updates to relevant personnel.
- Attend machine improvement meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, plans, and service manuals.
- Identify and address safety issues, ensuring compliance with company safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures and proper use of PPE.
- Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of PLC systems, servo drives, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Requires standing, walking, lifting, and working with machinery.
- May involve exposure to noise, moving parts, and varying temperatures.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads.
- Manual dexterity and ability to use tools and equipment.
- Capability to work in physically demanding conditions.
