Job Requirements of Quality Control Technician:

Key Responsibilities:
-
Perform in-process and final inspections of plastic film products to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards
-
Conduct dimensional checks, visual inspections, thickness and gauge measurements, and other quality tests (e.g., tensile strength, haze, gloss, COF)
-
Record and maintain accurate data on test results, defects, and process control
-
Calibrate and maintain lab and testing equipment
-
Work closely with production personnel to communicate quality issues and assist with corrective actions
-
Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality control plans and SOPs
-
Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives
-
Report non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes (CAPA)
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field preferred
-
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in quality control, preferably in plastic film extrusion, converting, or packaging industries
-
Knowledge of ASTM testing methods and quality standards (ISO 9001, GMP, etc.)
-
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
-
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry; experience with statistical process control (SPC) is a plus
-
Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and film testing instruments
