Operations Finance Manager


EXPANSION POSITION!  Our client, an international industry leader with operations in the Triad (central NC), has an immediate opening for an Cost Finance Manager to lead and drive global functions.  Reporting to the Division’s CFO, the primary responsibility is to forge strong business partnerships and provide cost analysis and decision support to the Business Unit Manufacturing and Supply Chain Leaders of the organization by improving standard costing methodologies and systems. Provide value added cost analysis, insights, and recommendations to drive cost reductions and process improvements.  Will have 2 direct reports.


  • Lead the Operations Finance Team in building cross-functional business partnerships and providing financial support to manufacturing and supply chain teams
  • Monitor labor, overhead, and material variances vs. budget and forecast and provide proactive recommendations to enhance financial performance
  • Oversee annual standard cost rolls, physical inventory counts, and valuation of inventory
  • Ensure full internal control measures are in place
  • Develop and monitor standardized Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing and recommend corrective actions, as needed
  • Identify and drive cost reductions and continuous improvement, including the development of robust reporting to monitor actual performance vs. savings targets
  • Drive enhancements, upgrades, and standardization of systems across Business Units to better support cost accounting and variance analysis
  • Improve accuracy and completeness of standard costs and standardize processes and procedures across all Business Units
  • Position will have 2 direct reports, but will coordinate with other teams to accomplish objectives
  • Partner with Supply Chain to monitor and drive inventory reductions to improve Working Capital
  • Drive discipline in the capital spending / forecasting process and complete cost savings and payback analysis to maximize ROIC
  • Lead the budgeting and planning processes for Manufacturing across all Business Units
  • Work with data providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely
  • Proven expertise evaluating, analyzing quickly and creating meaningful reports that lead to improved business results
  • In partnership with the Controller, oversee monthly closing process and ensure compliance; support audit requirements
  • Ad-hoc projects and analysis / other duties as assigned
  • Travel requirements between 10-20%.
