Job Description

Advanced Personnel Resources is recruiting to fill a temporary contract position servicing the Winston Salem area. This is a part time role working approximately 3 days per week 5 hours per day totalling 12-15 hours per week. 
Summary: 
Under general supervision, provides administrative assistant support to the managing department. 

Essential Functions:

  • Provides general administrative support to the Department.
  • Manages the director’s calendar and expenses and provides administrative support as needed.
  • Promotes, coordinates and assists student participation in departmental sponsored events, including student competitions, as well as student engagement in the retail learning labs.
  • Assists with managing the department’s budgets, including event budgets, endowment budgets and retail learning lab budget.
  • Plans and coordinates programs and events for the department
  • Performs other related duties as needed.


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School education or equivalent. 
  •  A minimum of two years secretarial, office, or related experience. 
  • Associate Degree preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to manage websites and effectively utilize presentation software.
  • Proficient in computer software skills e.g. word processing & spreadsheets. 
  • Easily negotiates Internet.
  • Requires full working knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to represent the department.
  • Participates in formal or informal problem solving.
  • Understands and follows policies and procedures.
  • Ability to answer moderately complex questions.
  • Seeks additional information to perform assigned duties.
  • Commitment to the  department's  mission.
