Job Description


  • Process multi-state payroll on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate processing.

  • Input and/or upload and verify all payroll entries in the time keeping system including deductions, garnishments, earnings, gross ups, manual checks, terminations, adjustments and manual checks in the payroll system.

  • Verify and approve changes made by employees on the Employee Self Service system as it relates to payroll.

  • Responsible for creating, reviewing and analyzing pre-transmission and post-transmission payroll audit reports to ensure accuracy.

  • Assist Branch Managers and Branch Admins to troubleshoot and achieve resolutions regarding payroll issues in the field.

  • Ensure Year-End is closed properly and all processes are completed.

  • Compile, input and verify any additional data to be included in the final payroll prior to processing of W-2s, and process W-2 corrections as appropriate.

  • Work closely with Human Resources regarding inquires, issues and procedures affecting payroll and HR.

  • Input employee changes to payroll, i.e. employee tax, branch transfers, salary, etc.

  • Reset passwords daily as requested by employees

  • Complete employee verifications upon request

  • Provide HR information to various departments as needed via reports

  • Process bonus payments, sales incentives, safety incentives, commissions and other incentive programs through payroll.

  • Act as back up for HR Payroll and Project Manager.

Job Requirements


  • Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of related payroll experience.

  • Specialized knowledge:

  • Proven knowledge of standard payroll concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Skills:

  • Must be experienced in Microsoft Office product suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Analytical skills, including research, ability to interpret data and ability to analyze information.

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • High level of customer service and responsiveness.

  • Abilities:

  • Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and client base.

  • Ability to work independently within minimal supervision.

  • Ability to maintain extreme confidentiality in relation to all payroll data.

  • Ability to multi-task and work flexibly as a team player in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities.

  • Must have the ability to prioritize commitments, manage time and adjust to changing priorities to complete tasks within desired timeframe by deadline.
