Senior Accountant
Our client, a stable and growing industry leader with operations in central NC has an immediate need for a Sr. Accountant.
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for all relevant revenue accounting, business internal controls, and continuous process improvements with a primary focus on waste elimination and creating efficiencies. This position will also assist in the monthly financial close process including preparation and review of journal entries, monthly audits, and reconciliations. The Senior Accountant must understand balance sheet accounts and ensure that accounting transactions comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as have a comprehensive understanding of inventory costing and reconciliations. This position will support and provide documentation for internal/external audit inquiries; assist in making process improvements/accounting changes; and provide on-going support for various business groups. Individual should enjoy working outside the box and challenging the organization with new ideas and a fresh perspective. This role will also be responsible for assisting the controller with various project assignments.

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting required, CPA designation strongly preferred.

  • Several years relevant accounting experience preferred.

  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively within all levels of the Company.

  • A proven track record in leading/managing projects, meeting deadlines, and working collaboratively as part of a team

  • Internal controls experience required

  • Proficiency with accounting software; QuickBooks and Great Plains experience is preferred

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office application with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (no exceptions)

  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement is required.
