Textile Machine Operator

Advanced Personnel Resources is partnering up with a company who is seeking machine operators to work in production. These individuals will have at least 2 years of machine operating experience.

Responsibilities:

• Loads rolls to be coated and sews seams.
• Maintains proper paperwork on work orders.
• Documents and reports any uncoated fabric quality problems.
• Sets up machine by process specification unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
• Maintain housekeeping to ensure safe and orderly work place.
• Meet customer Specifications for use requirements.
• Use scrapers and solvent to clean out rubber trough after processing in rubber areas.
• Use rags, scrapers and solvent to clean rollers and machinery in all areas.
• Use proper personal protective equipment as required for the solvents being used.
• Inspect fabric and note any defects on grading sheet.
• Fill out production report accurately.
• Cut swatches for lab testing as indicated per process specification.
• Keep sufficient chemicals in coating trough at all times on coating frames.
• Keep duster loaded with sufficient levels of talc powder on airbag frame.
• Properly ticket and wrap each roll processed.
• Ensure that all controls are set properly.
• Make safety checks to ensure machine is OK to start unit.
• Keep track of material as it is proceeded checking quality during processing.
• Send swatches to Lab for testing.
• Adjust unit to meet fabric standards.
• Responsible for general housekeeping on and around unit.
• Responsible for wrapping roll and sending to packing station along with proper piece ticket after doffing.
• Report any quality concerns, deviations from process sheets or mechanical problems to Dept. Mgr/Supervisor.
• Always work in a safe manner.
• Empty waste and keep records.
• Ensure the materials are in place and properly staged.
• Ensure the warehouse has been in communication with the lead person and is aware of the frame requirements to ensure continuous production.
• Perform general housekeeping around range
• Enter computer transactions for production Run.
• Other duties as assigned by Shift Finishing Manager or supervisor.
