Job Requirements of Freight Bill Auditing Manager:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent work or military experience.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics freight bill audit and payment and accounts payable.
- 3+ years of reporting and data analysis experience.
- Experience leading and managing a team of professionals.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and apply contracts with a basic understanding of all modes of transportation and logistics (Less-than-Truckload, Truckload, Intermodal, Flatbed, Specialized)
- Strong financial background and experience.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working independently under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
- Availability to travel 10% of the time

Freight Bill Auditing Manager
Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking talented individuals for a Freight Bill Auditing Manager position in the Piedmont Triad area. We are seeking professionals with 5+ years of experience in freight auditing and payments operations preferably within the freight forwarding industry. This candidate should have prior experience supervising a team of at least 3 employees.
Our client is a global logistics company that utilizes a technology-based approach to defining solutions for the challenging and evolving supply chain industry.
Pay: 60-65K annually DOE
Hours: Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm

Job Description:
As the Manager, Freight Audit & Payment Operations, you will oversee all freight bill audit and payment functions, including the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes and strategies related to accurate and timely auditing and reconciling of freight bills and other logistics services invoices to ensure payments to suppliers are approved correctly and on-time. The Manager, Freight Audit & Payment Operations will report directly to the Director, Procurement & Sourcing.
- Lead and manage the freight audit and payment program, including but not limited to freight audit, freight payment, process improvement, and standardization to reduce payment times for all suppliers.
- Develop, promote, and maintain strong supplier relationships by ensuring the highest level of customer service.
- Hire, train, and manage a team of freight audit and payment specialists.
- Track, monitor, and report invoice exceptions to ensure 100% compliance with company goals.
- Identify and resolve systematic invoicing exceptions to ensure timely and accurate payment.
- Audit carrier freight bills for accuracy including but not limited to rates, service, freight classification, weight, dimensions, and commodity description.
- Analyze invoice corrections and recommend solutions geared towards reducing billing exceptions.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews with suppliers to ensure alignment and avoid service interruptions.
- Create process and visual stream maps for more complicated activities and processes.
- Serve as subject matter expert for vetting new proprietary or sourced tools, technologies, and innovations.
- Other duties as assigned.
