Legal Assistant – Workers’ Compensation
Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support our client’s growing legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong organizational skills and a solid background in Workers’ Compensation law . You'll play a key role in case management and office operations, working closely with attorneys to ensure clients receive top-tier service.
This is a Direct Hire role paying around $20-26 per hour with exceptions made for exceptional candidates!
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle intake of new cases, including answering initial calls, screening prospective clients, and assisting attorneys with client onboarding
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, address concerns, and provide timely updates in accordance with firm protocols
- Manage workers’ compensation case files using the Litify case management system
- File appropriate IC forms and documentation, track compensation payments, and maintain accurate case records
- Collect and organize updated medical records, ratings, and restrictions
- Coordinate and schedule mediation sessions and client pre-mediation meetings
- Prepare legal documents, discovery responses, and mediation materials
- Process settlements, draft necessary paperwork, and manage payment and fee collection
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure ethical and efficient client service
