General Manager Manufacturing
Advanced Personnel Resources is currently recruiting for a General Manager of Manufacturing for a client of ours in the Triad. The CM of Manufacturing is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and continuous improvement of a designated manufacturing value stream. This role owns operational execution, financial performance, safety, quality, delivery, and cost within the assigned area.
The GM drives Lean initiatives, ensures standardized processes, and leads cross-functional coordination to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual business objectives. This individual serves as a key operational leader, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
This will be a direct hire opportunity paying in the range of 120-150K
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Financial Leadership
- Own full Value Stream P&L (approximately $45M), including cost analysis, margin performance, productivity, and variance management.
- Drive manufacturing productivity improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
- Establish manufacturing priorities and ensure alignment with production control and supply chain activities.
- Oversee order fulfillment and shipment coordination to ensure on-time delivery.
Lean & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and implement Lean manufacturing initiatives across the value stream.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts to reduce operating costs, inventory levels, and lead times.
- Promote flow manufacturing and pull systems where applicable.
- Ensure standardized work processes are followed and sustained.
People Leadership & Culture
- Provide direct leadership for approximately 80–90 employees.
- Develop supervisors and team leaders to build a technically strong and engaged workforce.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.
- Lead regular team meetings focused on performance, safety, and improvement initiatives.
- Promote employee engagement and high-performance team culture.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety-first accountability.
Strategic & Project Leadership
- Support long-term manufacturing strategy development and execution.
- Lead cross-functional projects of significant size, scope, and complexity.
- Travel occasionally within the U.S. as required.
