Job Description

Advanced Personnel Resources is currently seeking a Mammography Technologist for a client of ours in the Greensboro area.

the Mammography Technologist requires certification by the American Registry or Radiologic Technology and knowledge of radiology protocols, positioning and mammography procedures, equipment, and MQSA standards for quality and safety. 

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for effective, diplomatic, and empathetic communications to patients, their families, and referring physician offices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Facilitate the patient experience by greeting patients, explaining pre-and post-procedure instructions, completing exam forms, and verifying the patient’s identity.  Utilize AIDET Principals in all patients and provide encounters
  • Conduct screenings, mammography exams by explaining the procedure to the patient, updating patient history, preparing images for reading by Radiologist, and finalizing exam.
  • Conduct routine start-up and closing operations including cleaning and sterilizing the exam room and equipment.  Evaluate and maintain supply levels and practice safe patent maneuvers.
  • Document the patient’s exam through data entry, report retrieval, scanning and recording the exam details in the electronic medical record system.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge and licensure through educational workshops, professional publications, and societies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma, RT-R (M)

Experience: 1 to 3 years’ experience

Knowledge: Consistently model AIDET principles, service excellence and service recovery.  Consistently demonstrate commitment to safe practices while abiding by all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.

Skills: Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Email and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System and PACS Systems. Use of medical equipment, testing and measuring devices and office equipment.

Licensure/Certification: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Mammography in good standing.

Physical requirements:  Occasional lifting, pushing or pulling.

Condition of employment:  annual flu shot, annual TB test, CPR certification, compliance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines, wear all required Personal Protective Equipment and Radiation Dosimeter Badge.
